And There Off!!!

Tomorrow starts another long work week. Yes, I work for a Thoroughbred Race Track.

About

I noticed that my husband never has anything to write. So I have changed “our” about page to be my about pages. Check it out.

My Camera & My Man

I started off the day feeling artistic. My goal was to snap as many photos and do some hard core editing. However, after my second load of laundry was done the phone rang. It was my man. He was calling to let me know he was catching the next train out of Chicago. He was getting a migraine.

Tonight, I am watching American Idol and trying to nurse my man’s horrible migraine. Poor guy!

This is….

I watched this exercise on the Today show this morning. They asked a kindergarten class to fill in the blanks- This is…………

So I tried it. This is the day I’m going to try to capture the beauty around me through my camera.

How would you finish?

Thankful

Thankful for him thankful for us everyday.

What are you thankful for?

Peace, L.T.

I have a hopefully simple question. What are some user friendly editing software you all may recommend? We have adobe photoshop, but I’m wondering what else is out there that is also good.  Suggestions?

Work and Family

May has been a tough month. The line of work that I am in is very different from most in my area. My time in the summer months is very demanding. There is no “hiding” in a cube waiting for the lunch hour to come or 5pm to roll around so I can leave. To me my days are long. I work a minimum of 8 hours a day. On average about 10. My husband has a normal Monday through Friday job so our time together is limited. Thankfully, I have a great boss who allows Scott to visit. This makes working on the “weekend”  that much easier. Scott also knows better than to park himself in my office all day. He walks around and talks to different people.

However, I’m still exhausted. From the moment I walk through my office doors, I have to be “on”. There is no down time for me. I have to appear approachable all the time. As a result, I get tired to to  point that I can feel it in my body. Have you ever experience such a tiredness? It’s crazy. Despite the craziness that is my line of work. I wouldn’t change it. I absolutely love my job and what I do. Like all places of employment, there can be challenges, but I love every moment of it. I meet the most amazing people almost every day.

Today though, my real job starts. It’s my day off and I will be getting the car checked out followed by cleaning the house. Sounds fun I know.

I’m curious, do you have a normal Monday-Friday job? How do you try and spend your weekends? What are you today today?

Peace, LT

Something to East Sundays…late edition

I know I’ve said it before. My time has been consumed by my work. My weekends are flipped. While most of the world has Saturdays and Sundays off, I’m working. During the summer months my weekends fall on Mondays and Tuesdays. Anywho….

Here’s a recipes that I haven’t tried, but I just bought the goodies to make it.

Feta and Vegetable Rotini Salad
3 cups tricolor rotini pasta, cooked, drained and cooled
1 cup ATHENOS Traditional Crumbled Feta Cheese
1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
1 cup chopped unpeeled cucumber
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1/2 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
TOSS all ingredients in large bowl. Cover. Refrigerate at least 1 hour to blend flavors.
Enjoy!!

Something to Eat Sundays

Ok- So if you read my other posts, you will know that my life has been taken over my job. As a result, I haven’t had the time to try any tasty recipes. With that being said, my receipe for today is not one you can eat…..but try to live by:
